The Rent-A-Green Box story began in 2005 when our founder, Spencer Brown, needed to pack and move his home office into office space located just 30 miles down the road. After spending over $800 on cardboard boxes and other moving supplies, he ended up at a local landfill forking over another $150 to dispose of these boxes (which were each used one time to facilitate his 30-mile move). Standing there in the landfill next to 40-foot-high towers of compressed cardboard, he was struck by the sheer insanity of the old wasteful and inefficient model of packing and moving. As he looked up at mountains of empty plastic detergent bottles Spencer had his first "AH-HA" moment: There must be a way to make a cool eco-friendly reusable moving box out of all this plastic trash.
Nine months and thousands of hours of research and development work later, Spencer brought to market the first Zero-Waste, Earth-Friendly, Cradle to Cradle, rentable, reusable "green" moving box in the world. He named this product The Recopack (Recycled Ecological Packing Solution) and gave birth to an entire industry.
Over the next half decade, Brown's brilliant and original product designs, determination and relentless marketing proved to the world that Detoxing Landfills to make fun, practical moving products just makes sense. With multiple Zero-Waste packing and moving products (the most in the world) Brown had his second "AH-HA" moment: He was making recycled plastic moving boxes for people who don't like moving. Our support team and operational systems are in place to assist you in maximizing your return. We have been building a national brand for over eight years. Preference is given to applicants who financially pre-qualify on their own. If you plan to have a partner(s), please be clear about the details of your partnership (e.g. silent partner, active partner, financial partner and terms of repayment) when completing the Request for Information & Consideration.
Does Rent-A-Green Box provide financing?
No, we do not provide financing through the company. However, we are happy to provide any information you require to prepare a business plan and apply for a loan.
How many Authorized Dealers do you expect to have in the future?
Rent-A-Green Box has adopted an aggressive yet controlled growth strategy to ensure the quality and consistency of our program and provide a strong support base for our operators.
We will open a limited number of Rent-A-Green Box Authorized Dealers in mid 2013 and a lot in 2014 and even more in 2015. Ultimately, Rent-A-Green Box will be in every major metropolitan market in the United States.
